ATF Pre-Production

•September 18, 2008 • Leave a Comment

So this week/weekend is ESOAL. So campus has shutdown for it. ESOAL for non-Teen Mania people is an “Emotionally Stretching Opportunity of A Lifetime.” After much prayer and thought, I have decided I am not participating in it this year. I prayed a ton about the decision and never got peace from God about the event. I’ll probably be participating in the future, just not this year. Anyway, I’m in the auditorium working all weekend. I’ll be working throughout the night, so I’ll be sleeping in the sideroom along the auditorium. There is a worship set at 3:30am among other things during the night. Mr. Hasz and Mr. Stoner are posting video blogs keeping people updated about ESOAL events. Click on their names above to see the videos. Anyway, that is what is happening in my world!

Now for the title of this post. The Gauntlet band went and played for ATF pre-production in the student activity center to give ATF a good run-through of a set. I took the opportunity to snap a few pictures. Take a l00k!

IHOP-Intercession, Worship, and the Prophetic

•September 11, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Okay, the IHOP recap for everyone.

Well 10pm on Wednesday(9/3) we loaded on an ATF bus, we drove through the night stopping maybe 2 or 3 times. I got off the bus each time and loaded up on some snacks and stuff. Snagged an Arby’s sandwich once at like 2am. M@ and I watched the new mummy. We concluded that we were glad we didn’t see it in theaters. We then totally crashed and slept the whole way. I love my shure l2’s, I slept the whole way listening to band hammock(thanks for the recommendation Stanfill!) without being disturbed. We woke up and were at IHOP. We met up w/ our contact and drove over to our host homes. We cleaned up and got ready for the opening session.

Day 1

Corey Russell spoke at the opening session about John the Baptist, it was a cool message. I like the way he teaches. Mike Bickle spoke at the evening session. I personally, do not like the way he teaches. It just seems like he’s irritated. I know his voice is loud and commanding. But it’s like he’s yelling/raising his voice the whole time. Anyway, he taught about the end times, it was a controversial sermon.

Day 2

Today, was hard. We were all still whipped and we woke up at like 7. So we were constantly battling sleep. Anyway, the highlight of today was the breakout sessions. I went to the Harp & Bowl session. Which is Music & Prayer and how they’re intertwined. It was a very interesting session. It revealed to me how cool the prophetic singers are and how easy it is. I think we might be implementing some of this at a prayer meeting on campus.

Day 3

Once again, they had breakouts again today. I went to the one about building a worship team with excellence. I was quite disapointed with this session especially since I was looking forward to it. The dude who taught was one of the leaders for Merchant Band. However he showed up and asked us, the audience, what the topic was. I was shocked. He basically just talked about his testimony and how he arrived at IHOP. I didn’t go to a second breakout, I just went to the prayer room and saw the end of Misty Edwards set. I also snagged a coffee at the coffee shop, Higher Grounds. I have to say this is by far, one of the coolest coffee shops I’ve been to. I also skipped the last session, taught by Mike Bickle, to go in the prayer room and to talk with other folks about what we had learned this weekend. I really enjoyed it.

The Prayer Room

First, let me say the prayer room was not what I expected it to be. I figured it was like some room with a band and a bunch of people praying. hahh, seems logical right? Well no. I walk in and survey the room. They have the stage in the front with chairs in front of it. Midway back they have the sound board along with several video cameras. Behind the soundboard they have a area marked off for dancing, it was totally cool. Along the sides of the room in the rear are doors with rooms designated for different focused prayer. So they have a room for Israel, healing, and more. In the front sides, as well as scattered all over the prayer room, were long tables where people had set up laptops and notebooks. These were basically for working on homework in the prayer room. It was so cool. How much I would love to do my homework in there.

Nonetheless, the weekend was great and it excited me for what we will be bringing back to Teen Mania. Anyway, that’s my IHOP Recap!

Check out the picture I took here.

Have you ever been to the International House of Prayer?

George Cakes.

•September 8, 2008 • 4 Comments

So, this morning after corporate I had an appetite, specifically for pancakes. And I happened to have bought a box of mix and syrup last night. So, I ran over to the other room looking for a griddle, they said they didn’t have one. So I improvised and made George Cakes…on a george foreman grill. They were awesome!

No! Not the Pancakes. Prayer!

If you haven’t seen my twitter over here         ———————->

School of Worship is here on a retreat in Kansas City…Missouri, Not Kansas.

It’s been cool and refreshing, we’re here on the last day. I don’t have much time, but I’ve learned some cool stuff. Been in the prayer room for a bit, that was super cool. It wasn’t what I had expected though! I’ll go into detail in a later post.

Also, I think IHOP’s thermostat is broke they freeze it during sessions. So, I along w/ a ton of other SOW’ers snagged a cool OneThing Hoodie on clearance, 3 bucks!

Leftovers…A glorious invention!

•September 2, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Actually family style dinner @ maggianos is a glorious invention!

Mark, M@, and Myself  went to Maggianos (alliteration!) yesterday and went family style. So I’m enjoying the leftovers…Everyone knows how the system for family style goes: Get the first dish eat it, then ask for more, eat it, and ask for more, take one bite and then “oh I’m full, can we pack it up? Its a glorious system. Nonetheless, I’m currently enjoying Maggiano’s salad (the good bleu cheese one).  Now tonight the feast comes.

August Gauntlet

Hello!

Sorry I’ve been a stranger recently! The internship has been in transition between the August classes which is the bulk of the interns. They’ve been moving people around the ministry placements to help keep things floating…Matt and I got moved to the kitchen crew for a few days. We’re now back at home in our auditorium. Graduation happened so fast…and most of my amigos are gone. See the thing is everyone expected Matt and I to be strung out over the transition, but honestly this has been some of the best stuff yet. God is good. We’ve been priviledged to stay w/ the SOW & live with them. Danny, our manager, has really been taking care of us. He is seriously one of the coolest guys out there. I’m so glad he became our manager. Chris is our new Peer Advisor, he basically holds the role of a CA & RD. We got moved out of the house and upgraded to the rooms in the upstairs cafe. This is awesome because of AC, short walking distance, cleanliness, food is just downstairs, central gathering place, and free wifi….oh and like 10 washers and driers. :)

So, yes…I’ve been distanced from a great number of my friends, but I’ve also been opened to a ton more.

Anyway, my new room. I figured yall=(mommy carole) would want to see it…

My new bunk, w/ a bed side table w/ a TV as my 2nd screen for my mac….:)

Okay back on subject. This time is called Gauntlet, its basically intro to HA for the Augusts. Sessions all day to get a feel for what the HA is, what they believe, all that good stuff. So, I’ve been going non-stop. 6:30am soundcheck-10:00pm evening sessions. So that’s where I’ve been….so I also must go because it is 11:55pm…and I have to get up @ 6:05. So sweet dreams!
